Climate change and sustainability

Greenhouse gases keep heat near the earth. Burning more coal, oil and gas makes it warmer on average. Together we can do a lot about it.

First grade of secondaryAges 10 to 14Draft: Not yet checked by a geography teacher.

Why

On the weather report you hear about a summer heat wave or a heavy shower that floods streets in your town. Is that linked to the climate?

One warm day or one shower says nothing about the climate yet. But if you look at many years, you see that the earth is getting warmer on average.

Scientists know exactly why. And the good news: we also know what helps, from cycling to wind turbines at sea.
