Geography from 10 to 16
Know where you stand.
Kompas teaches you to read maps and understand the world: landscape, climate, cities and people, always starting from a place you know. You play with the picture until you see it, and practise until you can do it.
No ads, no tracking, no account needed. The learning path and the first three topics are free.
Three new exercises every day, the same for everyone. Do today's starter
See it
A map is the world made small
Slide the scale and see how much fits on the same piece of paper. Every topic works like this: first see it, then get it.
No account needed
Try it: slide the scale of the map
How a topic works
First the question, then the map, then the explanation.
Every topic has the same four blocks, always in this order. That way you know where you are.
Why
A question from a place you know. Why does the sea at the coast sometimes reach the sea wall, and hours later lie far away?
See it
A map or a picture to play with: turn the earth, slide the scale, build a climate chart. You see it before you read it.
Get it
The explanation in plain words, then the rule, and an example worked out step by step.
Do it
Exercises checked straight away: working with scale and time zones, reading maps, matching and ordering. A new exercise every time.
Then you read the typical pitfalls, where you meet it in real life, a bit of history and what to know first or learn next.

You do not need to know it all yourself. Every topic explains it the way school does, with a question to talk about together at the table.
