Rivers and the water cycle

Water evaporates, forms clouds, falls as rain and flows back to the sea through rivers. That way the water keeps going round.

First grade of secondaryAges 10 to 14Draft: Not yet checked by a geography teacher.

Why

On a warm day the puddle in the playground dries up, and a few days later it rains in your street again. Where was that water in the meantime?

Water does not disappear, it only changes place and form. The puddle becomes water vapour, the vapour becomes a cloud, the cloud becomes rain.

Part of that rain ends up in the Scheldt or the Meuse and flows back to the North Sea, past Ghent, Antwerp, Namur or Liège.
