Weather and climate
Weather is the state of the air right now, climate the average over about 30 years. A climate chart shows each month's temperature as a line and precipitation as bars.
Why
During your camp in the Ardennes it was cold and wet for a whole week. Does that mean Belgium has a cold and wet climate?
One week tells you something about the weather: what the air is like at that moment. The next week it may already be sunny and warm.
The climate is what you can expect on average, worked out over very many years. So to know the climate you need long series of measurements, and a good way to show them: the climate chart.
